My new GRB Newman Classic canoe on our Subaru Crosstrek. I'm really enjoying this canoe. I'd forgotten how satisfying it can be to fly along with an efficient canoe using a lightweight bent shaft paddle. Especially on a nice fall day on a beautiful lake. Good workout too.
The picture below obviously doesn't show a canoe but I thought that this group might appreciate how far some people will push the capacity of a vehicle's roof to carry a boat. The link below has the full story.

Well, I can show the car and the racks, but no boats on top just yet.
I picked up this totaled 2025 CR-V Hybrid for cheap, clear title, lots of hail damage.
Repaired/replaced 2 tail lights, and a rear quarter window.
My Thule Aero bars that were on my 2015 CR-V don't fit the 2025 CR-V, I would need new feet ($280) and a fit kit ($130).
My old square bar Thule racks have Tracker II mounts and are obsolete, nothing made for a 2025 CR-V.
Soooo, I drilled some holes in the factory roof rails, and bolted on my old Tracker II mounts that I had on my Honda Element.
Problem solved!!

A friend of mine had a car like that, he called it his “station car” as he would leave it at the train station for extended periods. It never got molested, at least that he could tell.
