Cold handle frying pans, they’re still out there.

I had been perusing second hand stores for cold handle frying pans for a few years with no luck. I did get a set of three off eBay so I’m not panless, but I kept looking.

I recently found this set at my local flea market. I cleaned up the little one and have been using it at home for a couple months now. This set cost 10 bucks and it took about an hour to clean up the one with a wire wheel to remove the rust. Then I boiled it a couple times to remove any oil soaked in.

If you come across one that appears to be beyond repair don’t be afraid to take a chance that it will clean up nicely. It probably will.

Junk stores should be required to post whether they have any cold handle frying pans in stock, preferably with the quantity in foot-high numbers like gas stations. I often go by them and think gee, if there was a 10% chance that place would have a cold handle frying pan amid all the knickknacks and schlock I'd totally go in, but I never do. That's probably why I'm panless.

Aren't they prone to warping or does it matter with an uneven grill or 3 stone firepit ?
