W/C repair question

I have a gouge in the bottom of my canoe that went through the red, blue and the green paint exposing some filler with the surface area of about a nickel. I have successfully done a repair like this before. My question is, do I need to fix this immediately or can it wait a couple weeks until I bring it inside?
