Its time to revarnish the gunwales of a Dacron cedar canoe. This time I hope to avoid drips and runs. I know that won't happen 100 percent. Sometimes I don't find it till it is hardened. So far my tool of choice for fresh kind of sappy runs is a razor blade. I know there will be one run that will escape and harden. A friend of mine told me a trick so that the sanding is confined to the run itself and not anywhere else. Take a pencil with a new eraser, use a week sticky stuff ( I wonder if Command strip would work) put it on the end of the eraser and drop a small disc of sandpaper on the adhesive. Trim to just a little bigger diameter than the eraser. Then you have a very precise sanding tool.
