Its always fun to plan trips.. Could we have a section for online resources for trip planning? I watched Windows to the Wild last night(on PBS) on the Connecticut Lakes in NH and got intrigued enough about paddling there to do a bit of research.

Sooner or later we are all looking for materials to help in trip planning and it would be handy to have those in their own closet so to speak.

I opened up a "Canoe Destinations" thread, not sure if this is what you had in mind. Otherwise, looks like too much work for me to do myself.

Those guys at PNett and Canadian Canoe Routes do a good job at resources and places to paddle, they run adds too.;)

I had more in mind.. just a forum for trip planning resources: maps, guidebooks and things that Google does not immediately bring up.

Florida West Coast above Tampa:
http://www.visitflorida.com/trails/profile/tid.12168 for the Apalachicola Region

http://www.hiddencoast.net/downloads.html Includes Lower Suwanee, Chassowitzka, Weeki Watchee and many others in the area between Cedar Key and Tallahassee

http://www.sctrails.net/trails/MAPS/EdistoRiver map.html for Edisto River

Suwanee River http://www.floridastateparks.org/wilderness/Maps.cfm

I will be putting a TR together.. most of these are day trips. My concern is that resources buried in TR's get hard to find.

I find P net a bit lacking in trip resources but daytrip reports OK. Most of these areas are conducive to extended tripping.

Crap , Robin I put this in the wrong place. I did not find the other thread. I miss my mouse. Its somewhere in the car jammed with canoe gear.

Can you move all of the above? I'm sorry.

YC, that is what I hoped you had in mind. A place where people could put up links and they would all be in one place. I can never remember where I've been on the internet when I try to go back and find a link months later. Maybe it could be a "sticky" thread in preexisting forum. I love the idea.
