Not boring at all. But you could get some more traditional ballast for your bow than that big water jug.
I think I’ve found the perfect ballast material. A canvass duffle filled with fire wood. It looks good, plus you can burn it if needed or wanted.
I spy the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau! What a view. Never boring!
With the temperatures in the mid-30s, brilliant sunshine, and minimal wind, my two friends and I enjoyed a wonderful New Year's Day paddle on ice-free Tully Lake in north-central Massachusetts. I was in my Northwind Solo, while one friend was in his Hornbeck, and the other was in his home-built cedar stripper. It was a great start to the New Year.
Start them early. My grandson at about 4.

(spruce twigs are from driftwood, no living tree was harmed)

Todays paddle on the lake of Thoune. It was kind of cold, air temperature -2.5 C / 27.5 F.

Here is one from a few years ago. My son was 11. Ross Lake Washington state.
It's a mild winter over here in Switzerland so I went out for a short overnighter. Yesterday evening nature presented a beautiful spectacle.
