Marshall Lake Woodland Caribou, I was windbound on this sandy beach just watching the world go by when this guy walked up the beach. One of two I saw on the trip.

Just a short Evening out on a local mud puddle:
I grew up within 15 minutes of this lake (Avoca Lake, in, of all places, Avoca, WI) and never thought it would be worth paddling at all, until this season. It's an artificially widened section of creek down in the Lower Wisconsin riverway. At the widest point, this lake is less than 200' across. Most places, more like 100.' Most of the scenery on the north side looks like this:
That entire section is public land, the river is actually almost all the way across the valley, up against the bluffs that you see in the way background. The grass is taller than it looks - over head high on me. Don't twist an ankle out there.
This dude was very chill. No zoom, I was really that close.

Thank you. Sadly I didn't bring my canoe on this trip, but will next time as I'd like to explore the flooding.
