New member from BC here. Great resource you guys have going here. I paddle a Clipper Caribou but have been reading a lot on here about the Kite. After a question to Stripperguy and another to Alan Gage I ordered a set of plans to look over. Once I get to putting it together I'll start a thread in the build section.

I think you'll notice quite a difference between the Caribou and the Kite. The Caribou is a big, generous hull. The Kite, which is a slightly modified version of the Osprey, will seem a fair bit smaller, even though I would classify it as a good size solo. I started out in an Osprey, put many 1000's of kilometres on it, but as my gut expanded, an my load stayed heavy, I moved up to a bigger canoe.

Thank you for the welcome guys. I enjoyed reading reading your build threads Gamma and Memaquay. I really like the Caribou's sizing. I find it quite stable in the rougher water I've had it in. I'm looking for something harder tracking and more efficient over distance when I'm not in the rivers. Being a bigger guy myself I scaled the prints up 6% when printing and will increase station spacing to match. The volume of my Kite will hopefully be quite similar to the Raven and Caribou S.
