You know, Rippy, I really owe you a debt of gratitude. I want to built one more canoe this winter but I don't quite know what it should be. I'd been thinking it would be fun to build it as a group. Let what type of canoe I build, how I build it, materials used, and finish be decided by the group. I real interactive type of project. Seemed like fun. Then I started following your knife thread and, all I've got it say about that idea now is, "oh heck no!".

I recall some squirt boats with metal flake finish. A sprinkling of gold glitter in the final epoxy coat would make that new carbon canoe easier to see at night. . . . .
