Picture 1; immature Phallus impudicus, Common Stinkhorn.

What drew you to that particular pond, and how do you access it? Google Earth reveals no nearby roads…

Patrick,
MDB and I hiked in there after we paddled the west branch of east carobs creek
I then went back with my son and attempted to paddle there via Sand Lake
Almost made it
Another forum member from another forum did manage to get there with a canoe
Look for Bluefire’s trip report somewhere else
Clockmill pond is a beautiful little body of water

One of the greatest bad songs of the early R&R era was Pineapple Princess by the former Mousketeer heartthrob, Annette Funicello. The video clip even has water, waves and a sort of paddling.

Custom stem decoration. Not even a Mad River canoe; an ancient Blue Hole I regunwaled and outfitted on the cheap for my brother-in-law 20 years ago. He raises chickens.

Refurbished on the cheap; new vinyl gunwales, but DIY’ed seats and thwarts. Also a purple and yellow paint job done with Dollar Store spray paint. The paint that sprayed was a lot more pastel than the vibrant yellow on the can. It looks like a giant Easter egg.

He now has other boats, but paddles, poles and camps in it to this day.

Day paddle yesterday, Lake of Thoune Switzerland. The air temperature was a bit below freezing (-1.6 C) and there was a thick layer of fog above....

....so today I decided to take the mountaineering skis out for a walk (sorry not canoe related)....
on this picture you can see the thick layer of fog in the valleys...

....all that snow is going to melt in spring...flow down to the creeks, rivers and lakes....and then I will paddle on it....

Greetings from Switzerland,
