I thought I would get a head start and load the canoe Sunday night for an early morning departure for a Memorial Day escape to Moab. I awoke Monday to find that the 6" of snow that we desperately wanted in January had arrived. 
Three days later, 240 miles south and 2,500 feet lower it was a 80 degree day on the Colorado! We didn't' used to have varIations this extreme! We enjoyed the change though and got in a couple of day paddles.
