I saw the video here on YouTube and thought to myself: I need something like that!

So I took some screenshots from the video and then I rebuilt the cart.

after welding the frame it look like this - but how to fix the Wheel axle?! mhmmm .... screw-clamps!

still a little paint on it and the little scales is ready.
This will help me a lot to put my canoe from backwards to the roof of my car.

it will be bolted from the other side with srcews an some plastik washers ... please have a closer look to the pictures an you will see how it works.

I did see those bolts but it is on the tapered gunnel and pulling forces want to slide to off. I’m thinking something that engages the deck (even a bungee cord) would help keep it in place.

I took another look at your setup and you have a cross bar right by the hand grip. A Velcro strap would do nicely.

I'm always enthusiastic about it too. I love this little helper. Even if it can only be used for a brief moment - but that's exactly what it is.

And here’s the total setup for loading a 60 # Raven alone - a solid steel bar with one end inside the Thule bar and the other inside a hollow aluminum extension, all gorilla taped together and supported by a 1” hardwood dowel. Not pretty but it works and is much cheaper than similar manufactured setups.

Very clever and much cheaper than the $60 I paid for the used Yakima equivalent for my round bar rack.
