I found this on Craigslist a couple weeks ago. I have never seen a motor mount like this before and I probably won't find another so I decided to grab it. I am not a fan of side mounts. I find them unstable and dangerous. I am hoping this will be a better solution.
I played around with the mount this morning on my Chestnut Prospector. It is definitely more stable than a side mount. I was able to cruise at full throttle no problem. The biggest issue I have is getting the prop in the water. I have to use ballast in the stern as well as the bow. I think after a few more attempts I will find a way efficient way to make this work.
