50 Pounder waiting to be restored.

I picked this up a few weeks ago from a local builder who is downsizing and moving his operation (mostly retired). 1946 Old Town 15’ 50 Pounder Solo. I hope to get around to it this spring/summer. It needs the usual treatment- new canvas, stem ends, decks, inner and outer gunwales, a few planks, and several ribs replaced (7) I believe.

Nice find, 50 lber's are great canoes. Makes for a nice solo tripper.

Nice... some of my first trips were in my uncle's 50-pounder. My cousin inherited it, and then passed it on to his son recently.

It is nice to think about- handing these older boats down to younger generations. Just not quite yet-
