I learned a gear trick on a recent trip. I have several almost empty Iso-butane gas containers for my stove, but when I pack for a trip I take a nearly full one, and usually bring a virgin back up as well. And so come home with yet another almost empty.

I also use a windproof butane piezo lighter when I trip, and on long trips sometimes bring a small can of butane lighter filler.

Who knew that there was an adapter for the stove fuel cans than can be used to fill a butane lighter.

Conk knew, and one showed up in the mailbox soon after I got home.

Two birds with one stone – I can fill the piezo at before a trip from the nearly empty iso-butane can, and refill it from the stove can on a trip if need be.

Thanks Conk.
