Many years ago, my club did a trip on the Rio Grande, through Big Bend.
I was shooting slides back then, but I recently bought an inexpensive slide scanner. It's easy to use, but the image quality isn't that great.
I'm guessing that not a lot of you have done this trip, unless you live in Texas.
I planned a trip in Feb on the Rio Grande some years ago with my brother. We planned it months in advance. We were hit with a Blue Norther and there was snow in the canyon. Winter is dark and cold and building a fire is tough. We cancelled the trip.
I have been backpacking in Big Bend NP in winter. We went over land from spring to spring. Great trip. I loved the country
I've never seen an area with more things that will bite you, sting you, poke you, or scratch you.
A tough place to survive.
One of the best river trips I've ever done. Probably not as safe as it was in 1995.
