Checked out Sparkleberry Swamp

Sparkleberry was my first reaction when I saw that photo, but my mind said, no, what would Gamma be doing way down in South Carolina.

The water looks low. Did you put in at Rimini?

Sparkleberry Landing which, I think, is closest to Rimini. I really wish I'd done more research before striking out but it was kind of a spur-of-the-moment trip, the canoe was still on the car from Allegheny Islands (just looks good up there) and the swamp was worth paddling. I'll definitely have to do it again when I have a few days to explore it.

I'm doing additional research now & planning on adding to the TR in case anyone else would care to go.

Yes, the closest town is Rimini, which is almost uninhabited. You likely put in at just about the same place on the landing's shore as I did 20 years ago with my outrigger, but at a lower water level, off to the right of the boat ramp.
