I received this Duluth Pack special catalog 20 years ago, I think they have gone in a different direction since then and cater to a more woke crowd today, but I enjoy looking back to the way things where.
I had bought all my packs by the but it is still nice to look at the tents they had available.

Robin, Do you remember Hurley's Journal? That is a blast from the past and loved getting my copy! Thanks for posting this. Reminds me of looking through the old Sear's catalog back in the day!

Yea, I loved Hurleys Journal, I was looking at the ones I saved yesterday too, I have a stack of them. I did a few trips with him, great guy, we are still "friends" on Facebook, he just soloed across the Atlantic to England in a 35' sailboat, calls England home. The ax I have in this picture was given to me by him and his son Kip after a trip in LaVerendrye.
Lotta memories

At one time there were great catalogues that came in the mail. This one is really good.
I miss the Alaska Sleeping Bag Co, and even REI and LL Bean had great catalogues 50 years ago. Eddie Bauer. They had traditional equipment and a lot of information about how to use it.

I can share some pics from an Abercrombie and Fitch catalog from 1911 if anyone is interested. Just don’t want to hijack the tread unnecessarily.

Balloon silk, Egyptian cotton, kapok and 12 ounce canvas. Bamboo fly rods and side by side shotguns. Axes and knives with names like Case, Western and Kabar.
The nostalgia is palpable. Camping only really has been around for about 125 years in America. The origins are still accessible. They make my heart beat faster.

Interesting Murat, thanks. The catalog I have is from 1911. Here are a few sample pages of the almost 300 to choose from. They carry almost everything this one has almost 40 pages of just tents. If someone want to see something in particular let me know.

Robin: Does your Duluth Catalog have a pack called the "Northwoods"? It was basically their version of the Woods packs from Canada. Can't seem to find it anymore on their modern site and trying to determine the timeline of when it was being offered.

Boatman53: Awesome pictures and love the cover. Apart from the two finely dressed models holding paddles, is there a separate page discussing their paddles for sale? I've come across two A & F vintage paddles with the logo branded on the upper part of the blade and decorative Turk's head knots tied right below the grip:

The Baker tent is set up in the backyard by the fire. We will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner out there this year in Dutch Ovens. . Probably buffalo the American meat will be on the menu. We are inviting two close friends to join us. We had as many as 28 for a Thanksgiving Buffalo Roast. That is way too many.

The goal is to make it look like the A&F catalogue. No modern materials. Old timey clothes. Break out the buckskins Pilgrims its Thanksgiving.

Only one page with paddles.

and the opposite page for those that like sailing.
