I know I have read here that there is public access to Chesuncook Lake from Graveyard Point in the village, which I am aware of (and have paddled past a few times), but it is not clear to me whether it is OK to park vehicles on the point there overnight. We are hoping to use that as the starting and ending point for canoeing the Allagash Lake Loop. I've never seen vehicles parked there, but have read of others doing so...it just wasn't clear to me who owned the land (I think it is the state) or what rules for parking there might be. Any info on this is appreciated!

Yes. It is OK to park there overnight.
You will see a ranger truck in the parking lot in the first picture if you peer

Thanks, YC! Funny, though, it isn't listed on boat launch lists provided by the Bureau of Parks and Lands. Well, too late to make alternate plans anyhow. And I doubt they'll pay to have us towed, lol! -rs

BPL is notoriously slow on updating their website. I do believe the turn off the Golden Road is after the Caribou Checkpoint. The State will get your wallet that way
