There you are, working along on something and with the work firmly gripped in one hand, you reach for your sheath knife or maybe your Leatherman. Whoops! The dang thing has slipped along the belt and is now out of reach.
When ever one of my pairs of pants is worn down to a frazzle, I salvage the belt loops from it and use them again. By deciding just where I'd like my knife to be, I can make sure it stays there by bracketing it with belt loops. Most times I need to only sew on one, an existing loop provides the other side of the bracket.
Best Wishes, Rob
