If you were screening people for a canoe trip what would be a deal breaker.

Ok, no main liners either. Or coke heads. And no crack heads.

Crack heads might make good porters. They work for crack... they don't eat. Crack is light - I'm sure the gram weenies could appreciate that.

The only problem is they are usually weak and scrawny - maybe the crack gives them strength. I'd want to make sure they could lift my boat.

:)

I think most crackheads tend to be afraid of the outdoors too. At least that is the impression I get. I don't run into many.

I think the drug use you'd run into in the wild is marijuana and alcohol. Gram weenies definitely go for weed. It is much lighter. It wouldn't be a problem if we were in CO or CA.

PS - after this kidney stone nightmare I'm never going out in the woods again without at least a few percocet.

There is no way I would have made it back under my own power without some kind of heavy pain killer.

Here I thought a mainliner was a paddler who started at Old Forge and paddled to Tupper as described in the 1967 brochure Adirondack Canoe Routes
