Here are some sights and sounds of the last few months of canoe building.

It’s been a busy year, and we are deep in crunch time now. The push is on.

Each new canoe’s check list includes:
Bending Ribs
Sheeting
Closing in
Rasp, sand and oil
Varnish
Seats and thwarts
Canvas
Filling and paint
Brass and Rails
…and out the door!

We’ve built a variety of models this year, but in typical fashion, the 16’ prospector has been the most popular.

Stay tuned as the canoes near completion and we get ready for summer action in Temagami, and wild waterways near and far!

It's really good to see this old school skill and knowledge used and passed along. As a wood craftsman of 27 years, I enjoy the fact that there are still people that respect the old ways.
