Should not be a problem at all with a well made scarf. Try not to have a joint where a hole for a seat or thwart would compromise it.

Got one of the inner gunnels glued on tonight. Was going to do both inners, but not enough clamps.
Inside varnish is done. My first boat I used Epifanes. This time around I went with Total Boat Gleam. Epifanes is great, but with the size of this boat, looking to save a few bucks. Nice thing with the Gleam is you can hot coat it. They say you can do three coats a day, so that’s what I did. 
Well she’s pretty much done. Still need to add loops to the lining holes, and add portage pads. Waiting game for ice out now. 
Looks beautiful. You should be proud of what you have accomplished.

It looks great, and just in time for paddling season. Now you will need a "Maine Guide Paddle" if you don't have one already. A pole will be a fun addition too.

Weighed the boat, she came in at 72 pounds.
Well she floats! There is a lake a couple hundred miles south of me that stays ice free year round, as the lake water cools a power plant, warm water from the plant then goes back into the lake. Fun day, the boat paddles well, however it was a bit breezy, and the wind wanted to push me around. Will be better with another paddler in the boat.

Thank you! I’m in a curling league, my teammates and I decided we needed a van to make the 120 mile round trip to the curling rink each week. We all pitched in and bought this one. I absolutely love the thing and want to buy the other three guys out lol. If you zoom in on the photo of the van you’ll see it is a Boundary Waters Edition. That alone makes me want full ownership even more. Going on a Boundary waters trip the end of May, and will be taking the van.
And the canoe?
