Yeah, that Kobo Aura H2O was the one I was considering, thanks Mihun. I generally don't take books for myself. I've already escaped to exactly where I want to be, so I'm pretty zoned in and tripped out as it is, swimming, processing wood, fiddling with the tarps, solo paddling, sitting in the sun, or napping in the tent. My wife on the other hand loves to unwind with a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. The sheer volume of books you can load on one of those things is impressive. I didn't know about the WIFI/battery thing YC, thanks for that. I'll ask about it in the store. A charger, like the one you mention might be an idea, thanks Oldie. It sure is good to hear your voice again around here. Preloading it with some good selections is an excellent idea, thanks memaquay.

Perhaps you could get a biolite to recharge the battery, then you would both be happy. She could read and you could cut wood and feed the stove. I would test that theory for you but we got rid of our biolite so no can do any more. Maybe one of those roll up solar panels?

I put a stop to the whole e reader idea tonight cuz I dont per se have much need to read out there. I sleep. I fish. I cook. That pretty much takes up the bulk of my time. Did I mention I sleep?

Such is couples life! O gee life is not about right or wrong its about what works for you or you and yours! Can I rent you for fishing? I keep thinking I would like to learn... I would like at my old age to go on a canoe trip with few portages and learn to fish in a trad wood canvas canoe. Mine are too little and tippy..
