Florida woman falls out of canoe, treads water for 12 hours, and is saved

She was a mile off shore in the Peace River. No PFD. Reports don't mention booze or drugs, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Gee whiz. A simple pfd and it's would just be a casual float until help arrived.

It's possible her husband didn't like the way the boat was trimmed.

I'm a bit skeptical of this; especially when her rescuer says he heard her from a mile away and saw her waving her arms. That whole scenario seems fishy to me. I've been down in that area (my in-laws wintered there) and spent time at Fisherman's Village. Honestly, it doesn't seem plausible to me but I'll leave it to the authorities to make the final decision.
