Show us pictures of your canoe vehicle with boat(s)

My 1986 VW Jetta GLI, when they were still made in Wolfsburg, Germany. That was a great car.
My 1990 Wenonah Odyssey. Great canoe. Still have it.

Pulled this canoe like a sled into Rainey Lake, about a mile off the North Cascades Highway in Washington. Had a couple big dumps of snow in October, before the lake froze up, and they were still keeping the road open so we thought "What the heck."

Dang, I would love to paddle in some deep snowy woods like that!
There aren't many places in the lower 48 where you can canoe in those conditions and surroundings. I do miss the variety of paddling opportunities in the PNW but am thoroughly enjoying the canoeing here in the northeast.

This is my new set up. The box in my truck bed is an insulated sleeping "camper" made by Tusca Outdoors. They are in the business of making deer hunting blinds and one of the owners built one for himself to take on road trips. He liked it so much they now produce them for sale. It weighs less than 200 lbs and I was able to load and unload it myself. It has a reinforced area for mounting a rack, mine is a DIY version. I had thought about getting a regular cap to sleep in but I didn't want it on my truck permanently. I plan to use this on road trips. I can arrive at my destination late in the evening the night before a trip so I can get on the water early. Now I can leave the evening before sand not have to find a spot to set up a tent in the dark or sleep in my truck. It will eliminate having to wake up early and start a trip after a long drive. I also don't have to worry about getting off the water late and having to make a long drive. If I get tired I have a comfortable spot to sleep.

This unit was made to fit my truck bed which is 6' 9" and is 6 feet in the interior. If you have a short bed or want a longer box you can use it with your tailgate down.

Wow, Al, that's unique! Upon first glance I thought it was some sort of barometric, medical isolation, or even a prison chamber. Very clever. It will beat setting up a tent in the dark, in the rain, or when you're just tired.

There's quite a rear overhang with the canoe, but I suppose it would have been difficult to get a proper bar height with one rack bar on the front of the cab.

Keep us informed about your experience with this type of bed camper. It may influence others.

I ive in Cleveland Ohio and became aware to the Tuska camper last summer. There are many videos out there about this product.....Supposedly, you can be in the teens weatherize and heat the inside to 50 degrees with a candle lantern. when they came out, they offered a $500 discount from the $3000 price and I was gonna purchase one to fit on my 5x8 trailer. I inquired and was told the discount was no longer active. It seems to be a low priced teardrop camper to put oa a trailer or the back of a truck

I like the setup Al but, just a thought: if your tailgate catches allow you to, put a padlock on one of them before turning in.

About time some smartass closes the tailgate, you'd be praying for cell service or pushing the SOS button. (Sorry, a younger version of myself would have still been laughing about something like that)
