Wildfire Smoke

It's okay. I can still see trees in the distance. ;)

This year, during smoke season, I plan to head for the coast.

I hope they get those fires under control soon, and without casualties.

Yes, very mild impact here and it does make me think about all the people that are closer to the fires. Nice that you have an escape plan if you need it.

A few years ago, while racing the Yukon 1000, the area had many fires. We even saw one just as it was created by a lightning strike on a mountain side in the middle of the "night". Shortly after we entered Alaska, we were not far from a pyro-cumulous cloud, where a large fire created its own thunderhead. Looking around the horizon, we could see as many as 7 of these things in the far distance. Shortly after, the smoke was so heavy that it stung and watered our eyes..

I was taking a walk along Lake Ontario last night and visibility was maybe 1km. It didn't seem too smoky in St. Catharines but Hamilton/Toronto sure seemed to be in the thick of it.

Ottertail,
Provide some edification for your curt answer. I have been studying forestry for 50 years.
This topic has been studied extensively and it is not up for debate.
