My buddy Dave and his soon to be ex wife,
His 327 strip built pro boat.

Not a Thursday but finally found a photo. From a trip we were actually paid to do, 1989. Quebec City to Midland on Georgian Bay, 1200 km in three North canoes, 8 to a canoe. Gear packed in old Canada Post canvas bags, way too much Big Bill's Beans and Rice from Harvest Foodworks, bilingual skits to perform along the way, sleeping in parking lots and on the lawns of community centres along the way.

It is all so familiar. I have never paddled with any of these people,, but I could have and I would have been happy about it.
The level of joy is obvious.

Having second thoughts on the last pic being in the ADK’s .
Here are some more but with a post card from Maine. The pic with the fish has what looks like a Rangeley Lake boat tied to the dock.

Looks like a nice campsite with the fly and kitchen setup.

And the postcard. With a 1958 postmark.

And one from the ADK’s with a 1907 postmark.

Nice.
I worked out of Tionesta on a river project around 2002 to 2004.
Hadn’t heard or really thought about it much in quite a few years. Thanks for helping boot up some memories.

Thanks for remembering.
I'm afraid the story of Tionesta now is the same as a great many other small towns. When we had our camp there (1965-1990) it was a busy hub of activity. My wife and I drove over a few years ago, it was very sad. All the businesses I'd known were gone, yards were grown up, many old camps unoccupied for years. Seems like the younger generation isn't as involved.
