Hi Al,
I paddled the same canoe for around 30 years. Mine was white and from 1951. I repaired a thwart and the inner gunwale and just paddled it. Finally the canvas rotted off. I started to repair it and planned to replace 12 ribs and the gunwales. The old brittle wood was very tedious to work on. I finally gave up and gave it to a Native friend of mine. All of my canoes are sold and I no longer paddle but I sure miss the OT Guide 18.
