I came across this great canoe about two weeks ago. I had no intention of buying another boat, but this landed in my lap and I got it for a song. I applied a quick coat of paint and varnish and got her on the water as soon as I could. Just under 15 feet and whopping 36 inches wide. This is sweet little solo. Very fun and fast!

I guess that’s Peterborough’s version of a Chestnut Bobs, or maybe not, but I like your work, looks really nice. How do you like that leather hanging seat? Do the inwales flex when you paddle? That’s a great picture of the canoe and pack basket. Thanks for sharing this, a really great find.

I am confident that this is a Bob's special. Thanks for the kind words. There was too much flex in the Peterborough for my liking due to the single thwart configuration. I now just paddle from the stern seat. The saddle works best in my Prospector. I can place it right ahead of the quarter thwart. This give the gunwales greater support.

On a sad side note- The saddle was lost/stolen last Friday. Tom is making a new one. I can not wait for it to arrive. I highly recommend his saddle.

Thanks! I had to let my SRT go last week. Too many boats and not enough time to fit them all into rotation. Your Bob's looks great. I have been going back and forth on a deep dish yoke for a couple years. I haven't pulled the trigger yet for some reason.

Yup, sure looks like a Bobs to me!
You are building quite the fleet, Sdrew! And you have fine taste in boats... I bought the Bobs as a Silver anniversary present for my wife.
You can't paddle silver!

Bruce

That is a great idea Bruce. My wife is getting her second W/C canoe for an anniversary present this year.

Thanks Al- sounds like you had the idea, too.
Our honeymoon was two weeks in a canoe in Algonquin so I thought this was entirely appropriate.

To Glenn's point, this wasn't completely altruistic- I take every opportunity I can to paddle "her " canoe!
