Improvised portage yoke

I tried this yesterday, using a 1.5 inch NRS strap as a temporary portage yoke. It worked pretty well and helped distribute the load versus just resting the canoe seat on my shoulders.

I'm still pretty new at this portage thing but I do have a put-in that is worth the extra work to reach.

Maybe you should try the tumpline portage system in with your strap system!
