With being confined lately, obviously I've spent ample time in front of the computer !
Looking through pics, I came across this one.
It brought back fond memories of my Grand Daughters first canoe trip !
Sugar, my youngest son's Rat Terrier accompanied us. Oh how she loved going in the canoe !
There’s an old Vaudeville saying that you should never go on stage after an act by either a child or a dog. You got’em both, Jim. The house would come down!
That hull is 18.5' it is heavier than most, as It's double layered, on the outside up to about the 3" water line, has flotation chambers, and trimmed with Ash. Strips were standard 1/4".
I built it to haul a load in the BWCA. It's an 80 pounder for sure.
On this trip ? I could have used more Bow Balast !
What a great picture! I am happy you got out and and enjoyed canoeing with family. It is cold and rainy here, snow on the way ...Loved reading your post and seeing the picture.
