Bivystick

Anyone have personal experience with a Bivystick satellite communicator? I know some folks don't like having to use phone, but I'm ok. And I have very little concern for SOS function, just want to communicate with my wife - rather my wife likes hearing from me. I should just get a sat phone but a little rich for me yet.

Hope someone will chime in; I'm curious about this also. I see that they dropped the price $100 but now require a four month subscription - not a bad deal at all. Can't quite wrap my head around the day to day practicality/ease of actually using it.
