This is sort of a test. I had to come up with a new photo host after photo@ucket screwed me over. I also wanted to share this project. Hopefully, now that I did the stripping, my son will take over and restore this one. It is a 1910 Old Town Lightweight that he acquired at the WCHA Assembly Auction this year. It is a neat boat with all spruce trim (decks, thwart, rails, seats). Closed gunwales. He is running off to college soon, so progress may be painfully slow. I will keep you posted. The canoe will likely weigh less than 58 pounds when done. The biggest issue with these lightweights is the thin (1/8th inch) planking usually takes a beating and this one is no exception! I couldn't get much of the green paint off of the trim. There is a special place in heck for people that paint interiors.

Nice job stripping, too bad about the paint...oh well in your spare time. Can't wait to see your son hunting and fishing out of this one. Nothing better
