Here you go: webbing is 3/4" wide, holes are spaced about 1" apart.

    Canoe rehab

Picked up an old, Old Town Camper a few weeks ago as a "winter project". Couldn't wait till winter so I pretty much started on it right away. It had / has some good points and some bad.... The good is that it's a royalex 16' Camper that i'll be able to solo instead of my big 17' OT Tripper. I...

    Duluth #4

Tried out the Duluth for the first time this weekend, it's amazing how much gear you can move in one shot. Water levels were a little low, with the ease of moving the Duluth pack we opted to remove some weight in the canoe before we ran this stretch of rapids. I'm sold on big packs!

    2 or 3 person tent for 1?

What's everyone's preference? For years I made out just fine with this old but great little 2 person Coleman tent. I sold it last month as I'm changing out my gear and packing requirements so I can take the kids along with me on certain trips. I bought this Eureka Tetragon 4XT, for trips...

    16' Cedarwood Prospector

Took the Cedarwood out for a test paddle, to my surprise, no leaks! :) Been a long time since I've been in anything other than a 17' Discovery 169 or Tripper. It was great paddling the "little" 16 footer. Unloaded it wasn't too bad but the Prospector design begs to be loaded with gear to perform...

    spray covers

Issue solved, I found a Tripper locally at a decent price, no longer considering the NC Prospector. I was going to trade my Esquif and some cash for the Prospector (from a different province) if the deal went thru. Now with the older Tripper I just bought I can keep both the Tripper and the...

    Allagash - June 2015

The upper Saint John River is much different then what you see here in Fredericton. Way less water and likely pretty shallow in some spots. Grant if you ever think of heading to Maine for a trip let me know, I'd like to get out of NB for a change :)

    spray covers

The covers are likely easily installed and removed as needed, but once on for a trip your stuck with it, either in use or stored away. I just don't think I'd ever use the cover and it would just be in the way but maybe I'm wrong...

    spray covers

I'm looking at a 17' NC Prospector that come equipped with a spray cover (North Water I think). Anyone use one? Care to comment on their use? For my short 1-3 night canoe trips, a spray cover just looks like it would be a bit of a nuisance. I think i'd feel claustrophobic trapped in the seat :)...

    16' Cedarwood Prospector

I'll be ordering a roll ( well 1/2 a roll) direct from wholesaler, way cheaper than getting it from the usual suppliers.I've made my own filler before using a modified version of one of the ones listed at wcha page. I don't feel like ordering silica again for a one time shot but i might. I also...

    16' Cedarwood Prospector

There's often something I miss when initially looking over canvas canoes before I buy them, this one ends up being no different. Looked it over again last night and it would appear that the canvas will need to be replaced not just fixed. I'll get a couple trips out of it this year if I get out...

    16' Cedarwood Prospector

Canvas canoes and the rivers I run generally don't make a good match. I took a new Atkinson Traveller down the St.Croix one year and ended up with 3 tears in the canvas, we don't just have rocks, we have sharp rocks and lots of them. The Canvas on the prospector has a few battle wounds already...

    16' Cedarwood Prospector

Todays new purchase, lightly used Prospector, canvas has had a couple poor repairs but nothing too serious. IMG_0436 Sold my Cronje today for what I had in it, found this one shortly after. The Prospector is a full 15" deep and as round on the bottom as any canoe I've seen.

    Duluth #4

Actually sold the Tripper the other day, was trying to flip my Esquif Prospecteur buy it's not moving so I put an inflated price on the Tripper and it went.... The Esquif will suit me fine for a bit. I'll likely find another Tripper (in better shape and cheaper) in a month or two with any luck.

    Duluth #4

To my pleasant surprise I was able to find a Duluth Pack (#4 HD) today at a great price. It's about 10 years old and only used once. These certainly are not common in my area, 1st one I've actually seen. My only beef with it is the head of my axe doesn't fit in the side pocket...

    Miramichi River, New Brunswick

The rain made a big difference for our group. We alway make this run near the last week or two that the river can be paddled in a normal year and we are always prepared for relatively low water conditions. In the early spring, when the water levels is really high, the Miramichi is a different...

St. Croix River Maine / New Brunswick border

It’s been a good paddling season for me this year, in June we managed to get a trip in down the St.Croix River. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Croix_River_(Maine%E2%80%93New_Brunswick) The St. Croix forms the international border between Maine and New Brunswick, it has a bit of...
