I’ve looked on line and can’t find anything wider than 30”. I’ve been using custom cut pool noodle sections but they are a pain to take on / off every time I load /unload. Looking for some pads that will Velcro on so I can leave them on around town. The other potential issue is the large circumference of the aero shape rack.

Can anyone recommend an option or vendor?

Thx

I don't use any pads on my aero bars.

But if you do want some protection for your gunwales, you can put the protection on your gunwales rather than on your crossbars. Just snap short (6") sections of foam pipe insulation or hard plastic pipe insulation over the points on your gunwales where they contact your crossbars. They are easy to snap on and off the gunwales. The foam pipe insulation will degrade fairly quickly, while the hard plastic will last for many years.

We have had pictures of the hard plastic gunwale protectors here, perhaps from @stevet or @Conk.

I’ve cut the pool noodle pieces to fit on the gunnels. Easy to pop on and off but anything I can do to eliminate another step in the load / unloading process is a plus. Just me being picky. I want to be as close to grab n go as possible. About have it figured out to where I can keep thwart bag, backrest, PFD and two paddles inside the canoe and it still be easily loaded / unloaded.

The foam canoe blocks shown at the link below have worked well for me on aero bars. I do take them off when not in use.
