It’s not my favorite thing. I left my yoke on on my cartop and loosened the bushings. Was able to tighten them back up, but it’s something you don’t want to do. You also don’t want to lift the canoe with the yoke for the same reason. My Northstar has the carbon fiber gunwales but is contoured to accept a standard NS portage yoke. This yoke works well but the inserts just aren’t bulletproof.
