Instead of pushing planks back and forth through a saw. A strongback makes a great platform to work off.
Here is a pic of my strip cutting set up. I put sacrificial cleats about every foot, so as to protect my strongback from the sawblade. Tack the plank to the cleats, and proceed to walk back and forth cutting strips.
