3/16” hole, recessed on one side, perfect to seat a machine screw or pop rivet anywhere 1” webbing is used on a hard surface. On the decked boats, where I might want to strap something down outside the cockpit, those things are beyond handy, especially on the back deck where I can’t see things and don’t entirely trust the security of bungees.

Lots of applications. We have a Paddleboy Designs Heavy Lifter center cart. Kinda like this

I like how easily it breaks down into two bunks and two wheels/struts for storage. I like the easy button-clip assembly. I like the fattish pneumatic tires.

And I almost never use it. The bunks and struts are awkwardly shaped for tightening a cam strap across a hull; the straps slip out of place too easily and necessitate walking back and forth around the cart adjusting things multiple times before tightening the cam. And you best dang remember to bring those unattached restraints.

Four grommet straps resolved that issue, and I have a more easily usable center hauler.

With the straps now secured in proper place the cart still breaks down into four pieces, with the straps always-there attached.

OK, in hindsight I should have added a length of double sided Velcro affixed under the strap grommets instead of using rubber bands. I may have to drill out those pop rivets and do so.

Grommet straps. Think of the possibilities. In the Lazy Susan bins at the end of the BMO counter.
