I sold my 2023 Silverado and went back to my roots, my 5th squarebody (1983 Chevy k20) with my 16’ squarestern wood canvas canoe with a 2.5 Yamaha 4 stroke.

Sharp looking truck Robin … reminds me of my old Chevy C20 … wood bed with split rims. Oh the adventures I had in that old truck. Shinning times.

22’ Ford Explorer with Curtis Northstar and Curtis Dragonfly sitting on 2x4’s tied down to my 60” Yakima bars, and same Explorer with my Mad River Explorer.

One more. My Minnesota 3 on my 2013 Tundra using the Yakima Longarm.

New guy here from way down south...
Here are my canoe haulers from the last few years. I still have the trucks, but the Escort Draggin Wagon of Death has moved on to browner pastures.
Honestly it was the best hauler, as I had a steel rack made from tubing and welded straight to the roof. Ripping out the flaming headliner afterwards improved the acoustics of the sound system immensely. A real win-win!

He is probably expecting one heck of a tailwind to push him along.
He neglected to tie off the bow and stern. There are probably convenient hardpoints in the rear wheelwells.

Welcome. Some great rides there but the classic tripper (IMO) might be that Escort wagon. Easy to fix & they seemed to live forever, if I could find one now, I might trade my Ranger for it.
It was definitely a handy and thrifty ride, I do miss it. Paid $500 for it, drove it for a couple years, put a head gasket on it (these love blowing head gaskets), drove it for a few months and sold it for $1500.
5 speed, crank windows, 30+mpg, STYLISH
Gamma, my in-laws have an Escort wagon a 1998 if I remember correctly with just over 51 k miles. Don’t think they want to sell it though.
