Roll Call for West CT, SW MA and MHV NY Canoeists

I'd like to gather an informal list of members from western Connecticut, southwestern Massachusetts and the mid-Hudson valley region of New York who may be interested in day trips in those areas. We have several members in that geography, and with some interesting canoes.

I envision that anyone with a trip idea, whether long-planned or spontaneous, could DM the group to see if anyone else is available. In the past, @Cheeseandbeans, @Brightraven, @Ripple and probably others I've forgotten have taken trips in the general area. Please chime in if this interests you. For the first time in many years I've paddled with some groups of open canoeists this summer, and have really appreciated the companionship and commonality of interest.

As long as you don't go too far into NY, I'd definitely be interested. The flatwater sections of the Housatonic are nice - Sheffield, MA to Ashley Falls, MA, or Ashley Falls, MA to Falls Village, CT.

I'm officially outside of the mid-Hudson valley but I might still be interested in joining if my schedule allows. I live just south of Cooperstown but driving a few hours has never dissuaded me from going somewhere if it meets my needs.

I appreciate the positive responses.

I know @Brightraven works on Saturdays and I assume others might work on Mondays, so Sundays may be the the best day. Because I'm probably going to be out of town in late September and early October, I don't want to waste time planning. So, I'm going to paddle round trip from the Lake Lillinonah Pond Brook boat launch this Sunday, September 1, at 10 am.

I will be paddling this Sunday, September 1, on a 9.5 mile round trip out of the Lake Lillinonah Pond Brook boat launch, which is at 158 Hanover Road, Newtown, Connecticut. I know there is water there, all flat water, and the weather is supposed to be good. The trip goes down Pond Brook Stream...
