FlashFIRE is a symmetrical David Yost design with above waterline flare carried to shouldered tumblehome; yielding a dry hull with firm final stability. Significant rocker allows Flash to flat turn and increases speed while arched stems help tracking. The small hull reduces skin friction, and allows Flash to paddle with little effort kneeling on a high seat with a single blade or as a pack canoe; sitting low with a double paddle. @
If that's more or less a consensus I guess I'll go with it. I just need to work up the nerve to actually do it. I've been mulling this over for months and keep backing out.
I've tripped in Flash in moving water with pour over ledges, etc with a five gallon carboy of water beside my 165 pound self and camp gear in the boat for the five day event.
