That's a Dandy. It's the solo canoe that made Galt initially famous, but it's not as inspired as his later Caper or BJX. Nice if you want a historic and collectible canoe, but it's not fast nor particularly turnable for it's short 13-9 length. There are many modern solo canoes that perform better, although for much higher prices if new.

@yellowcanoe had a Dandy for a while, I believe.

Wonderful cruising boat but not the fastest nor the most maneuverable.. The ask is a bit optimistic but the market will tell.. Its a Dandy. Mike Galt called his canoe line Lotus. There were several models.. The Dandy was one of the Lotus designs from the heyday of hot canoe designer disagreements.

not that all of us soloists are opinionated.. mff....:rolleyes: We were looking at a Blackhawk Canoe that has been at Lincoln Canoe and Kayak in Freeport ME for at least a year. Its 1994 mint and is either 12 or 13 feet long. Cane seat some rocker.. FreeStyle shape bottom. Its a beautiful solo...
