Might affect your paddle choice

It has been speculated that some of the paddles from the Pacific with pointed ends may have been also used as weapons. The link below mentions this and includes many pictures. It has also been suggested that the pointed end simply made it easier to travel quietly while hunting.


Last year I bought a couple of used paddles at a yard sale. One of them is quite hard and heavy, I joked that it doubles as self defense.
There are mountain lions in my back yard, only we call them panthers here. I need to buy more paddles.
