Seems like I get slower at reporting these things as the trips go by. A friend and I paddled the Main Southwest Miramichi from Half Moon Pit to Boisetown. I'd been wanting to do this trip for years, so it felt great to finally get the opportunity. The weather and the water were perfect. The days were sunny and warm -- and we stayed dry the whole trip -- and the gauge in Blackville read 1.5. Most of the rocks were covered and we glided right over. We only ran into one other group over the course of the weekend.
[FONT=Verdana, Arial]We camped just below Burnt Hill on night one and at Trout Brook on night two. Having now completed the trip, I can see why people go back time and time again, it's a fantastic trip with something for everyone. Unfortunately, we learned after the trip that what we thought was Trout Brook Falls was incorrect, and that we missed it! It turns out that the falls is a one of the better ones in the province, as per W.F. Ganong himself! Darnit, next time I guess!!
