In 2011, I bought a Nemo Losi 3P tent, which had won lots of awards and which I liked very much for solo canoe tripping.

However, I hadn't used the tent in 10 years. When I looked at it for a trip this summer, I found the waterproof coating was degraded, the glued-on Velcro ties under the rainfly were falling off, and one of the plastic pole sockets cracked when I inserted the pole.

I contacted Nemo and sent them pictures trying to invoke their "forever guarantee" (to the original owner with proof of purchase), but not really expecting they would do anything other than claim I had neglected or abused the tent.

To my surprise, after several weeks delay, they honored their guarantee and offered me a choice of a $600 Dagger OSMO 3P tent or a $400 gift card to buy anything I wanted from their website. The Dagger OSMO tent was mighty tempting, but I had already bought a new REI Halfdome 3P tent that I used several times this summer.

The Nemo Dagger OSMO 3P was about the same in all dimensions as the Halfdome 3P, but lighter, which generally means less strong, and I could have returned the Halfdome to REI. But I like the Halfdome 3P a lot, and a couple of pounds are not significant for car camping and non-portage canoe tripping. So, I chose the $400 gift card from Nemo.

Now, all of Nemo's products are high-priced and probably over-priced, plus most of the products on their webpage are not of interest to me. However, I was interested in getting a much more comfortable sleeping pad to replace my backpacking-light air mattress. Thus, the Nemo Roamer XL Wide pad, highly rated for comfort, was of significant interest to me. I bought it and two Nemo Fillo Wide pillows. With some money left to spend, and few inexpensive Nemo products of interest, I bought an overpriced Nemo Meldr tent peg hammer/extractor & bottle opener in order to use up all my gift card.

The sleeping pad and pillows are quite comfortable and the hammer is of quality construction.

I plan on using all these products while base camping in the NJ Pine Barrens next month.

Thank you Nemo for terrific warranty coverage!

Always good to hear a manufacturer that stands behind their product. I had a similar experience with The North Face when I pulled out my old tent and found the outer layer all sticky. The product had been discontinued so they gave me a gift card. Like you there wasn't a lot on the site that I wanted so I ended up with a pair of gloves, an overpriced shirt, and I don't remember what else.

I have also invoked Nemo's warranty and found them easy to deal with. You will like that pad, very comfortable. Bulky, but oh-so-comfortable.

I had a similar waterproofing issue on a tent of that vintage. Nemo explained the issue to me, which was basically two chemical treatments that are initially compatible, but break down when in close contact in a closed environment for a long period of time. The process took a bit, as the tent was well out of production and the direct replacement was not suitable for my desired use case, but with some patience and persistence, I ended up with a brand new Chogori 2p for less than $100 out of pocket.
