Hello everyone! Name's Bill(y). Currently reside in the Tidewater region of Virginia. Been canoeing since the boy scout years where I gained a inexplicable love for aluminum canoes ha! I have fond memories of paddling the little lake at summer camp in Pennsylvania, learning to cast a fly rod out of an old Grumman, floating down the New River here in VA, and my all too short week up in the boundary waters at Northern Tier high adventure. Over the years, I have gotten fascinated by all kinds of small boats but the canoes seem to have stuck the hardest and I have since acquired a small fleet of shining aluminum and plastic canoes. Nowadays, I am mostly found in quiet ponds or one of the many tidal creeks in the area either fishing for bluegill with a 3wt or ultralight spinning rod or just seeing how far I can run my boat up the muddy creeks. I am really looking forward to checking out the forum and learning some new things and meeting some new like minded folks.

Welcome to the site. You will find much knowledge and many knowledgeable people here. I am somewhat familiar with the VA tidewater area due to my time there in the navy in the 1960’s. Nice area with mild winters, especially when compared to Wisconsin, but really hot and humid summers.

Welcome to the forum. I once explored some tidewater creeks on a trip to Virginia. Lush and full of wildlife.
