I’ve owned this canoe about 40 years and I’ve been reluctant to let it go, but it’s time. I bought it in Montauk , NY and it had been used in salt water and I un knowingly continued to use it in salt water, because I lived in the East End of Long Island. I knew nothing about electrolysis at that time.
When it finally needed new canvas I was aware of what was going on and tried to mitigate the problem. Along with cleaning and varnishing inside and out I retacked the whole canoe. I put a new Dacron skin on to cut down the weight and then put it aside to earn some money and when I got back to it the white blossoms had reappeared on all the tack locations. That took all my enthusiasm away. Literally years later and I haven’t gotten back to it so it is time to let it go or cut it up and salvage the diamond head bolts, seats, thwarts ,and decks.
The boat is an 18’ Old Town OTCA, its sailing canoe. I’ve already decided to sell the sailing rig separately but it could go with the boat. Buy the sailing rig and get a free canoe, or just take the canoe. The canoe still needs gunnels, as I said I gave up on it.

I’m in mid coast Maine but would be willing to drive an hour or more to help deliver it. I’m also going to the WCHA assembly next month and could bring it with me if anyone is interested. I might bring it anyway. I will be bringing the sailing rig to the assembly. It’s still got life in it but not decades.
