Here are just a few photos. I am still transcribing my journal into the digital online blog.

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful place. I made many trips to Brent and Poobah lakes to fish Lake Trout when I was young, forty six years ago, do not remember any sandy beaches in the Quetico country, but I may have forgotten some details. I do remember seeing a porcupine swimming out in Basswood Lake one time on the way back from Brent. Thank you for a trip down memory lane.

DT, Thanks for posting your link to your blog. That's a lot of future reading! I used to do a fair amount of backpacking in the Adks as a teen into early 20's. I recall one day on the Northville/Lake Placid trail we huffed and puffed for something like 9 hours and only made 5 miles due to the amount of blowdowns blocking the trail! I'm sure you know the drill. Great pics as well!

I have been in Baja Quetico, also known as BWCA.
I have had several trips saved by rolls of duct tape and eddy shopping on the way down stream.

Quetico and Boundary Waters are so close to me and yet I have only driven past them. A fall trip may be just the ticket. I had intended to go to Turtle River near Ignace this year but my companions bailed at the last minute. I have so much great water within a half day or less in Manitoba though that I can stay here and have a good time too.
