I like the flexible tubing idea! Can you share the materials list and the actual process for the vandalism? (I can see me drilling a few holes in perfectly good boats myself)

I remember how traumatic it felt drilling the lining holes in my cedar stripper. No regrets!
Glen asked me about drilling foam of the floatation chamber in my last post about this process, but I hadn’t encountered foam in my previous efforts. This stem had foam. The key was to clear the hole saw of the composite circle and foam debris before going too deep. Got a nice clear tubular channel.

Cool, Thanks Tony. Now the only question that remains is: Drill holes in the new Raven before I officially paddle it or actually scratch the hull on a rock before I drill holes in it? (overall stress level in my life has been receding lately... maybe some self-inflicted stress is OK)
For a cedar stripper another option is a piece of 3/4" copper pipe. Just use thickened epoxy with a little cedar sawdust to thicken it up.

oof... that looks like it requires a little higher level of precision that what I'm used to (I'm a "meh, good enough" kinda guy). I guess I could try a smaller pipe & gouge out the hole when I fail. (I'll pm a few questions to minimize thread drift)

Man, it has got to be hard to drill 3/4" holes at the waterline in your boat the first time. Are lining holes typically added fore and aft?
Yes. Not just for lining/tracking but car topping. Best and strongest place for bow/stern lines. And yes, it is traumatic drilling a brand new stripper hull.
Note: I don’t tie down using my lining holes. I imagine stressing the vinyl tubing and the epoxy seals. Fortunately, my north wind solo has some holes up higher for a hand loop. Just using the handle on my Swift for tie down purposes.
